Yes, you heard right! We're ALL IN! We are all excited about giving our Youth a Baseball Season!
Welcome!
We believe our approach makes us the overall best place to play baseball within our community of Waukegan. Kids from every demographic, of varying abilities, and from all over the City play in our League. Our main objectives are to have balanced teams with kids of varying abilities on each team, develop their baseball skills through proper coaching in a positive fashion, have the kids make new friends, and, most importantly, to make sure the kids have fun all along the way. We offer playing opportunities for kids from Kindergarten through High School. To add to the overall experience, league champion tournaments for the Quad Cities (Winthrop Harbor, Beach Park, Zion, Waukegan & North Chicago), All-Star tournaments, and plans on post-season tournaments this year. WYB games are played on a variety of fields throughout the City, including our four fields on Bevier Park, Dugdale Park, Belvidere Park, and Bowen Park, and fields provided and maintained by the Waukegan Park District. All of this is at an affordable price makes what we believe is an unbeatable value in youth sports in Waukegan.
Our success has been based on the hard work of our volunteers, led by a local Board of Directors who are also all volunteers. We are a nonprofit group that will be chartered by National Little League Baseball this year. The majority of our volunteers are parents with kids in the League and all parents are expected to volunteer in some way.
Parents must take some initiative to make the local program successful. Little League is not a club that implies baby-sitting benefits and entertainment privileges. Practically speaking, Little League is an adult work project constructed, supervised, and assisted by parents who want to extend this benefit to their children. The parent who shirks this responsibility cannot, in turn, expect others to assume the burden.
6-8U - Ages 6-8 and or Kindergarten to 2nd Grade.
9-10U - Ages 9-10 or 3rd and 4th Grade.
11-12U - Ages 11-12 or 5th and 6th Grade.
13-14U - Ages 13-14 or 7th and 8th Grade.
15-16U - HS Freshman & Sophomores
17-18U - HS Juniors & Seniors
Men's League (18-40 Years of age)
